Summer Band 2025
marching band at a glance 2025
In my years as a Band student and then a Director in Texas and Tennessee, we have always had the month of August as a time to hold Summer Band Camp. This is a time to start making music, learn lots of stuff as a group and begin to come together as a Band family for the year.
I personally met my role models as a freshman down in Houston at Band Camp: people who would go on to become professional musicians, engineers, lawyers and doctors who were invested in making music and being the best they could be on the field and off as musicians, students and people.
I hope that you as the parents and students of the HHS Band understand the importance of coming together and starting a new year of music before the school year actually starts.
We will take time during Summer Band to:
Refresh Fundamental Playing Skills
Read new music to be played in the stands during football games
Learn the Basics of Marching Band and begin learning our competition show
Perform in the Harvest Days Parade
Have FUN and get to know your section, your class and the band!
